Children's Workshops

Sharing Your Family Stories
A 3-hour interactive workshop combining family beliefs, traditions, and customs with storytelling. The participants learn about other families, while exploring their own family structure and the traditions within their immediate and extended families, and then how their family fits into a larger community. The children have the opportunity to create colorful and creative quilt patches based on their individual family structures, and then tell a short story about the patch as they connect their patches to create a full community quilt. This is offered on Saturdays only and works best in a community setting such as a church, library or community center where the community quilt can be displayed. Bring your cameras to this workshop to take shots of your children every step of the way!
